My practice in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgery is focused on aesthetic body contouring.
I qualified with an MD in Medicine from Damascus University in 1997 then completed my first specialisation as a General Surgeon in 2002, during which period I was able to perform major elective and emergency procedures. I continued my training in the United Kingdom since 2003, focused on Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, developing my skills in microsurgery, breast, body and limb aesthetics and reconstruction. I completed advanced fellowships in hand surgery and in breast reconstruction. I attained the MRCS, MD by research thesis, EBOPRAS then FRCS (Plast).
During my last job at the NHS, I developed the breast reconstruction service at Bedford Hospital by introducing microsurgical free flap reconstruction (DIEP) and complex breast surgery. My team was nominated twice for the Hospital’s ‘Team of The Year Award’ and won the ‘Service Improvement and Innovation Award’ in November 2018.
I introduced the ultrasound-scan-guided gluteal lipofilling in 2020 to practice, and worked with The British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) to study the evidence on BBL safety and produced a new national guidelines on gluteal lipofilling.
My practice has been fully private since 2019 centred on body contouring such as liposuction, gluteal lipofilling (BBL), abdominoplasty, breasts, calves and male pectoral surgery using standard and custom-made implants.
